Bottleize is a record of what is in your cellar. That is personal, and the short version is this: it is private unless you choose otherwise, we do not sell it, and there is no advertising here.
Your account: email address, name, the username you pick, and a hash of your password. We never store the password itself.
Your cellar: the bottles, what you paid, what they are worth, where they are stored, when you opened them, your tasting notes and ratings, and any photos you upload.
Nothing else. There is no analytics package, no advertising network, and no tracking pixel anywhere in this app.
By default, nobody. A new cellar is private. Notes are private when you write them.
Sharing is something you turn on, one thing at a time: a note can be made visible to friends or to everyone, a cellar can be shared, and values are a separate choice from the bottles themselves.
Where your bottles are stored never travels. Shelf, row and bin are yours alone and are stripped from anything shared, whatever else you have opened up.
Three, all set by us, none for advertising: one keeps you signed in, one remembers whether you chose light or dark, and one is used by administrators when viewing the app as another account for support.
Vercel hosts the site and stores uploaded photos. Neon hosts the database.
Anthropic reads label photos when you scan a bottle. The photo is sent for that request and is not stored.
Have I Been Pwned tells us whether a password has appeared in a known breach. Your password is never sent: only the first five characters of its hash leave this server, padded with decoys.
Resend sends transactional email, such as a password reset, if and when email is switched on.
Export is built in. Your whole cellar downloads as a CSV from the account menu, whenever you want, without asking anyone.
Deletion is by request today, and we will do it. There is no self-serve delete button yet. Write to hello@bottleize.app from your account's email address and we will remove the account and its contents. We would rather say that plainly than describe a button that does not exist.
Bottleize is about alcohol and is not intended for anyone under the legal drinking age where they live. We do not knowingly keep accounts for children.
If this changes in a way that affects what happens to your data, the date below changes and we will say what moved.
